Thursday Pre-Party: "First Contact"

Arriving early? You should. The Thursday night session features Of The Trees and FLY, setting a deep, atmospheric tone before the main festival even begins.

🏕️ The Venue: Cadott Festival Grounds

Forget the dust bowls of other festivals. Force Fields takes place on 365 acres of permanent festival grounds that are a game-changer for comfort.

  • Dust-Free Dancing: The venue features 27 miles of blue granite roads. This means no dust clouds when you’re walking from camp to the stage. Your lungs (and sinuses) will thank you.
  • The Lay of the Land: The grounds are massive but navigable. Camping surrounds the concert bowl, and many spots are within easy walking distance of the stages.
  • New for 2026: Look out for the "Outer Bass" campground expansion, designed to give more space for larger groups and elaborate camp setups.

🛌 Where to Sleep

Camping On-Site

This is the immersive experience.

  • General Camping: The standard experience. 20x30 spots. Great community vibe.
  • Electric Camping: Limited availability, but life-saving if you want to power fans or recharge devices without a generator.
  • Glamping: Pre-set tents with actual beds. Perfect if you’re flying in and can’t check camping gear.
  • RV Camping: Drop-off is strictly Wednesday-Thursday. Hookups available in specific zones.

Official Partner Hotels & Shuttles

Not a camper? No problem. The festival has partnered with local hotels to provide a "Hotel & Shuttle" package.

  • Fairfield Inn & Suites (Eau Claire): The "Headquarter Hotel."
  • Country Inn & Suites (Chippewa Falls): Another solid option closer to the venue.

The Shuttle Service: Run by One N Only, the official shuttles run on a loop.

  • Departure: 12:30 PM – 6:30 PM (Head to the fest)
  • Return: 1:30 AM – 3:30 AM (Head back to bed)
  • Pro-Tip: The shuttle pass allows you to party responsibly without worrying about the dark country roads.

✈️ Getting to the Grid (Travel Info)

By Air

  • Primary Hub: Minneapolis-Saint Paul International (MSP). It’s about a 2-hour drive to the venue.
  • Connection: Take the Groome Transportation shuttle from MSP to Eau Claire (approx. 41 min from venue), then grab a local Uber/Lyft or arrange a ride.
  • Regional Hub: Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (EAU). Much closer (30 mins), but fewer flight options.

By Bus & Train

  • Greyhound: Drops off right in Cadott at the McDonald's (approx. 42 mins walk or a quick car ride to the gates).
  • Amtrak: Take the Borealis or Empire Builder line to St. Paul (MSP) or Tomah, WI.
  • Insider Tip: Amtrak has a Thruway connecting bus that services Eau Claire. Check the "Mixed Service" option when booking tickets to get closer to the venue.

⚡ Survival Guide: Tips & Tricks

  • The "Pool" Hack: Yes, you can bring an inflatable kiddie pool! The festival has a text-based service to fill your pool with water at your campsite for a fee (approx. $50). Text the number on your camping pass upon arrival.
  • Clear Bag Policy: The concert arena has a strict clear bag policy. Hydration packs are allowed but must be empty upon entry.
  • Cashless Venue: Bring your cards or set up Apple/Google Pay. Vendors will not accept paper currency.
  • Quiet Generators: You can bring a generator, but it must be rated under 60dB. If it sounds like a lawnmower, leave it at home.
  • 24/7 Showers: Showers are free and open 24 hours (except for cleaning times). Avoid the morning rush (9 AM - 11 AM) for the shortest lines.
  • The App: Download the official Force Fields app before you arrive. You will need it for "Campsite Checkout" on Sunday morning.

End Transmission. See you in the fields, traveler.
