ANALOG DARKNESS:
KLOUD TAKES OVER RADIUS

This Saturday, Chicago’s Pilsen district plunges into darkness. The enigmatic electronic artist known only as KLOUD brings his industrial-tinged, analog-heavy sound to Cermak Hall at Radius. If you are looking for a standard DJ set, look elsewhere. KLOUD constructs an "authored environment"—a high-pressure system of grid lighting, raw synthesis, and relentless rhythm.

WHO IS KLOUD?

Genre: Dark Techno / Industrial / Mid-Tempo Bass

Identity: Anonymous / Fictional Persona

KLOUD is less of a person and more of a concept. Playing off themes of data privacy, artificial intelligence, and the modern surveillance state, the artist remains strictly anonymous, performing behind a signature LED grid mask.

Musically, KLOUD draws inspiration from the raw, gritty sounds of 90s analog synthesizers and early 2000s electro, fused with modern production fidelity. He refuses the title of "DJ," viewing his performance as a narrative arc about a character born from data. His live sets are known for being 100% original material—no filler, just a cohesive sonic journey through dark techno and bass.

Fun Fact: KLOUD’s visuals avoid traditional storytelling. Instead, they utilize stark geometry and strobe lighting to create a "manufactured void," forcing the audience to focus purely on the physical sensation of the sound.

VENUE GUIDE: RADIUS & CERMAK HALL

This event is taking place in Cermak Hall, the more intimate, warehouse-style room located within the massive Radius complex. It’s known for its incredible sound system and industrial aesthetic, which fits KLOUD’s vibe perfectly.

TIPS & TRICKS

  • Protect Your Ears: Radius and Cermak Hall are notoriously loud. High-fidelity earplugs are highly recommended to enjoy the bass without the ringing ears the next day.
  • Security is Tight: Expect a thorough search. Chains, large bags (over 16"x16"), and open packs of gum/cigarettes are usually not allowed. Travel light.
  • Coat Check: There is a coat check, but lines can get long at the end of the night. If you can brave the cold for the walk to the car/Uber, skip it to save 20 minutes of waiting.
  • Food: If you get hungry, the venue actually serves surprisingly good chicken tenders.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: PARKING SAFETY ALERT

While Radius is an amazing venue, the surrounding street parking in Pilsen has seen a significant increase in car break-ins during events. Thieves often target cars parked on dark side streets (like S Lumber St) or unlit areas behind the venue.

HYPRVYPR RECOMMENDS:

  • Use the Official Lot: Pay for the official Radius/Cermak Hall parking lot (Blue Lot at 680 W Cermak). It is lit and patrolled.
  • SpotHero: If the main lot is full, book a secure spot via SpotHero rather than rolling the dice on street parking.
  • Rideshare: If you take Uber/Lyft, walk a block or two away from the main entrance after the show to get picked up faster and avoid the surge pricing congestion.
  • Empty Your Car: If you MUST park on the street, leave absolutely nothing visible in your car.
